Why Become a Breathwork Facilitator?

When Breathing Space founder, Benedict Beaumont, took his first conscious connected breath, he knew immediately that his life had changed. He knew that he had to learn how to do this incredible practice and bring it out into the world.

If you have experienced the power of breathwork, you might have felt that same quiet voice calling you to share this work with others.

Becoming a breathwork facilitator with Breathing Space is a unique and amazing career that allows you to show up exactly as you are. It is about learning how to use your unique style and your own life experiences to hold space for others in a way that only you can.

We don't see people as problems to be fixed. Instead, our mission is to equip you with the tools to hold space, and the professional foundation required to help individuals navigate their own breathwork path. This 400 Hour training acts as the bridge; it takes your personal love for the breath and provides the structure needed to share that gift with the world.

When you train with Breathing Space, you will learn to:

  • Move Beyond the Basics: You’ll learn how to guide deep, transformative sessions while feeling confident and capable of supporting whatever arises in the room.

  • Understand the Language of the Body: We dive deep into the science of safety and breathwork. You’ll learn to work with people to meet them where they are and support their nervous systems so you can help people feel safe enough to truly let go and heal.

  • Stand with Global Authority: A pathways to earn a GPBA-certified credential that sets you apart. This acts as a promise to your students that you work to the highest ethical and professional standards.

  • Walk the Path Yourself: You can only take others as deep as you have gone yourself. This training is your own space to grow, breathe, and find your unique voice as a professional guide in an inclusive, trauma-informed way.

The Breathing Space Professional Breathwork Training Pathway Overview

Every journey into breathwork is unique. Some feel ready to dive into a professional career immediately, while others prefer to start with smaller, foundational steps. At Breathing Space, we meet you wherever you are on that path.

Our training is designed in "stackable" levels. This means you can start at the level that feels right for you today, knowing that each certification naturally builds into the next. You never have to start from scratch; your learning and your hours grow with you as you progress toward mastery.

  • Level 1: Breathwork Coach (50-Hour Certification)

    • This 12-week course is perfect if you want to begin working safely with others or integrate breath regulation into your current wellness work.

  • Level 2: Breathwork Facilitator Certification (400-Hour)

    • This is our flagship 10-month journey. It is the gold standard for those who feel called to make breathwork facilitation their primary career, focusing on deep somatic release and group work in a trauma-informed environment.

  • Level 3: Breathwork Teacher & Mentor Training (800-Hour)

    • Once you have gained experience as a facilitator, you can progress to this level to begin mentoring others, designing your own workshops, run your own trainings, and leading within the brathwork community.

  • Level 4: Breathwork Therapist (1000-Hour Specialisation)

    • Our highest level of somatic breathwork training, focusing on advanced therapeutic integration and working with complex needs. (Coming Soon)

Two Ways to Complete Your 400-Hour Breathwork Certification

If you are ready to begin your professional 400-hour breathwork facilitator journey, we offer two distinct pathways. Both follow the same globally recognised, trauma-informed curriculum, allowing you to choose the environment that best supports your learning style.

  • Online Group Facilitator Training

    Online Group Facilitator Training

    Learning in Community

This is a 10-month journey alongside a supportive group of peers. You will join live seminars every two weeks to learn, practice, and grow within a global community. It is the best choice if you thrive on shared energy and want a structured, guided pace.

  • The Individual Apprenticeship

    Individual Breathwork Apprenticeship

    Personalised Mentorship

This path offers a one-on-one apprenticeship with an experienced teacher. It is entirely tailored to your own pace and schedule. It is the best choice if you prefer the depth of private mentorship or need the flexibility to learn at your own rhythm.

The 400-Hour Breathwork Facilitator Curriculum

  • Before you can lead others through deep transformation, you must understand the language of the body and the mechanics of the breath.

In this first stage, you master the fundamental tools of regulation and safety including:

    • Nervous System Literacy: Go beyond theory to understand how the breath interacts with the brain and body. You’ll learn to recognize signs of stress and dysregulation, and how to help a client find their way back to a felt sense of safety.

    • The Toolkit of the Breath: Master over 20 core techniques. You’ll learn when, why, and how to use specific patterns to support outcomes like better sleep, mental focus, or anxiety relief.

    • The Ethics of Care: We establish a professional foundation early, covering the essential principles of trauma sensitivity and the ethical boundaries that protect both you and your clients.

  • Once you have the foundation, we move into the heart of our work: Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB). This stage is about learning to navigate the deeper waters of emotional release and somatic healing including:

    • The Art of High-Ventilation: Understand the history and the incredible power of CCB. You’ll learn how to safely guide these intensive sessions, helping participants bridge the gap between the mind and the body.

    • The Science of Transformation: We take a tour of the body’s internal chemistry. You'll learn about gas exchange, the diaphragm, and the respiratory system so you can explain the "why" behind the experience with scientific clarity.

    • Advanced Trauma-Informed Practice: You will learn the somatic tools needed to respond to intense emotional reactions with grace and presence, ensuring you can always hold space.

  • The final stage of your training focuses on the subtle, powerful skills that define a master facilitator.

This is where you find your unique voice and learn to lead with both authority and heart.

    • The Facilitator’s Toolkit: We dive into advanced skills by learning to use your Voice as a tool, understanding the ethics of Touch, and mastering the subtle art of Transmission and presence.

    • The Business of Breath: We believe this work should be sustainable. You’ll learn how to design workshops, manage the logistics of working online or in-person, and build a purpose-led business that honors your humanity.

    • The Spirit of the Work: We explore the spiritual dimensions of breathwork, learning how to meet expanded states of awareness with grounded, practical, and ethical support.

This journey hasn't been put together by accident. Our curriculum has been carefully designed by a professional teacher and a nurse with years of expertise in online education and curriculum design. Every module and every lesson has been mapped out to guide you through a logical, supportive progression that builds your confidence as much as your knowledge.

You are moving through a deliberate three-stage journey that takes you from the foundational science of the breath into the deep, visceral art of holding space.

When you choose a breathwork training programme, you are trusting a school with your professional reputation and your personal growth.

We take that responsibility seriously.

Breathing Space was founded by Benedict Beaumont, but the curriculum is a collaborative effort. It has been built by a team that includes professional educators and nurses with decades of experience in curriculum design and online learning. This means your training isn't just a collection of videos; it is a deliberate, pedagogical journey designed to make complex science accessible and deep emotional work safe.

Our school is founded on the core principles of community, connection, empowerment, and inclusivity. We believe that while you can learn the mechanics of the breath anywhere, the art of facilitation is best developed within a supportive network of peers.

Here is some of what makes our training special:

  • Supported, Not Isolated: Even though our training takes place online, you are never learning in a vacuum. You will have consistent access to our vibrant, global community, live masterclasses with guest experts, and a deep library of resources to support your growth.

  • A Clear Path Forward: When Benedict first trained as a facilitator, he felt that once the course ended, he was left entirely on his own to navigate a new career. He created Breathing Space to ensure no one else felt that way. Our clear progression pathways mean your graduation is just the beginning, you will always have a professional home to return to as you move toward leadership and specialisation.

Choose Your Training Pathway

  • In breathwork, safety is a profound responsibility. When we use techniques like Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB), we are working directly with the nervous system. A trauma-informed training ensures you have the "nervous system literacy" to recognize when a student is moving into a state of overwhelm or "shutdown." Instead of pushing through, you learn how to resource and pace the experience so that healing can happen safely. Without this foundation, there is a real risk of retraumatisation. We teach you how to hold a space where everyone feels safe enough to truly let go.

  • Absolutely. In fact, many of our most gifted facilitators and several members of our core team are neurodivergent.

We value the life experience you bring, and our mission is to help you find a facilitation style that works for your unique personality.

The course is designed to be accessible, with recorded sessions, structured modules, and a supportive community that values diverse ways of being and learning.

  • While "the best" is always a matter of finding the right fit, what sets us apart is our marriage of science, heart, and professional integrity.

Our curriculum is built by a team of professional educators and nurses, ensuring that the science is accurate and the pedagogy is sound. We are GPBA-certified, meaning we meet the highest global standards for ethics and hours. Most importantly, we focus on empowering you to find your voice, rather than asking you to follow a guru or a rigid script.

  • Because we offer different learning pathways, the specific schedules and logistics vary.

You can find a comprehensive, module-by-module breakdown of the 400-hour journey on our Group Training Page.

This outline details every step from foundational anatomy to advanced leadership skills.

  • For professionals, whether you are a coach, therapist, or healthcare provider, intentional breathwork is a tool for resilience. It allows you to regulate your own nervous system in real-time, preventing burnout and increasing your capacity for presence with your clients.

By integrating these "micro-practices," you bring a grounded, steady energy to your work that participants can feel and mirror.

  • While both involve the mind-body connection, breathwork is often more "active" and somatic. Meditation often focuses on observing the mind, whereas breathwork uses the physical body to influence the nervous system directly. Many meditation teachers join our training to add a "bottom-up" somatic tool to their toolkit, finding that the breath can sometimes reach places that silent sitting cannot.

  • We specialize in Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB). While CCB shares historical roots with Holotropic Breathwork, our approach is focused on modern trauma-informed principles and adaptability. We teach a style that is grounded, ethical, and can be facilitated in a variety of settings, from 1-to-1 clinical sessions to large group workshops, without the need for the specific "Holotropic" branding.

  • The benefits of breathwork are grounded in well-documented physiology. By changing our breathing patterns, we change our blood chemistry (CO2 and Oxygen levels) and signal the autonomic nervous system to move between states of rest and activation. While there is a beautiful "mystery" to the emotional shifts people experience, the foundation of our work is based on the science of the body. We avoid "hype" and instead focus on measurable resilience and well-being.

  • Yes. Our training is designed for adult learners with busy lives. Whether you choose the Group Cohort (with seminars every two weeks) or the Individual Apprenticeship (which is self-paced), the modules are structured to be manageable alongside a career. We value pacing and integration, so we encourage you to move through the material at a rate that allows you to actually embody what you are learning.
